Kanye West – Coldest Winter (Official Video)
by Craig on Feb.23, 2010, under Music, Videos
Surprisingly absent from his own video (After his continued hiatus following the MTV/Taylor Swift incident, less surprising), but still managing to pull massive buzz is Kanye West with his new ‘Coldest Winter’ video. The song organically recreates (read: cover version) Memories Fade by the great Tears for Fears while adding new drum loops and a heavier tempo and backbone. The video itself depicts a woman chased by hooded figures (because that totally hasn’t been done before) and features amazing state of the art graphics (read: 3 minutes of flying hair and shifting corset-bound cleavage, horror movie style). I’mma let you finish, Kanye, but 30 Seconds to Mars had one of the best videos of all time.
* Songwriters: Kanye West, Ernest Wilson, Roland Orzabal
* Producers: Kanye West, No I.D., Jeff Bhasker.
* Recorders by Andrew Dawson, Anthony Kilhoffer
* Mix engineers: Manny Marroquin
* Assistant engineers: Christian Plata, Erik Madrid
* Keyboards: Jeff Bhasker
* Recreates elements of “Memories Fade” by Tears for Fears

This is one of my favorite songs by them. Incredible performance of a very difficult and technical song – Rob Halford in his prime.

by Craig on Dec.08, 2009, under Videos
Here’s another one from one of my top 5 live albums – Iron Maiden doing Hallowed Be Thy Name in Rio – Also one of the best concert environments in the entire world. Look at how psyched up the crowd there is.
Up the Irons.

This is my favorite live album/DVD by Nine Inch Nails and one of my top 5 live albums of all time – Look at the quality of the music and the performance – This is what a live band SHOULD look and sound like.
The Pound (Epic Handshake)
by Craig on Dec.08, 2009, under Videos
One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen – This coming from a guy who knows all kinds of handshakes. If you don’t laugh you might wanna check your pulse
God Lives Underwater – From Your Mouth
by Craig on Dec.08, 2009, under Videos
Probably one of the greatest videos ever made. Starring Japanese Hot-Dog-Eating Champion Hirofumi Nakajima.
Proof that good videos aren’t based on your budget – A tip for directors everywhere.
